It was a great day on May 21st as we presented the winning amount of $1,284 to the winner of the progressive game, Patricia Melville, who is one of our regular attendees at the Bingo session. We normally have 25 to 35 regular attendees at the afternoon Bingos held in the dining room. However, the progressive game builds in value week to week. To accommodate a bigger crowd, we had to move into the auditorium for two Tuesday sessions. On May 21st with the 59th number called, the limit for the progressive game that day, Patricia called “BINGO” and won her prize.

In an earlier edition of the ECHO we announced that we would be buying more kiosks for the MySeniorCenter (MSC) system to better deal with the number of members scanning in for various activities, events and lunch, etc. At that time, we said that this would cost approximately $10,000 over and above the original $10,000 cost of the initial setup. BC Gaming requires a separate gaming account for Bingo profits. That is where the initial $10,000 payment for the MSC system came from. To pay for the additional kiosks and scanners we forecasted that the gaming account would build up to another $10,000, by the last session of Bingo, which will be at the end of June when we stop for our summer vacation. We are pleased to announce that as of May 21st the account balance surpassed $10,000.

We couldn’t successfully offer Bingo to our SSAC membership without the consistent efforts of our enthusiastic volunteers, including Chris Twaits, Jan Baines, Debbie Campbell, Chris Kuck, Audrey McConnachie, Eryl Shindel, and Chris Hadaway.

Bingos are held Tuesdays at 2:30pm – 4:30pm (doors open at 2pm) in the Dining Room unless a larger crowd necessitates a move into the Auditorium.

Our schedule moving forwards is:

June 4 – NO BINGO
June 11 to June 25 – BINGO AS USUAL
July and August – SUMMER BREAK
September 3 – BINGO RESUMES
