The Volunteer of the Month Committee would like to announce our first recipient of this award, Derick Pye.
Derick has been a dedicated and committed volunteer prepper in the kitchen for over 12 years. He can be found in the kitchen most Wednesdays and also regularly assists at special events i.e. the Christmas Turkey lunch or the Volunteer Appreciation lunch in June. Anything he is asked to do by Emily, Liz or Jackie he does so willingly and we must say the quality of his work is outstanding.
A few other interesting facts about Derick are that he has been a volunteer with Special Olympics Sunshine Coast for 14 years as an Athletic Peer Mentor, he works in the Meat Department at SuperValu in Gibsons and is a Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions fan.
